Appointments
Our telephone lines open from 8:00am, please call 01268 209309 to book an appointment. The phone lines are extremely busy first thing in the morning, so, if you have a general query please telephone after 3pm.
Please note that the new phone system only allows 30 callers to hold. We now have a fully cloud based system which should avoid “calls dropping” out from the queue. We also have an updated call recording function as well as an automatic call-back feature. if you use this please remember to stay near your phone and keep the line free as there will only be one automatic call-back attempt made.
We offer telephone consultations, or face-to-face appointments with a variety of clinicians. The receptionists will assist you in finding the most appropriate clinician after asking you a series of short questions regarding your problem. If you have a private issue you do not wish to discuss with the receptionist, please make this known to them.
If you book a telephone appointment, please be reminded that you will be contacted within three hours of your appointment time – not necessarily the actual time you have been booked for.
If following a consultation with a health care professional you feel you want to question or disagree with the advice you have been given. Please in the first place arrange to speak with that clinician to address the issue. We are aware that we do not always get things right and would value the chance to discuss you concerns. If you do not wish to speak with the same professional, you can arrange to gain a second opinion by seeking to discuss the issue with a alternative GP.
PATCHS
We have now introduced a new E-consultation service through a system called PATCHS. This replaces the previous “Doctorlink”.
The service allows patients to raise both clinical and non-clinical requests. Requests are then assessed, allocated to an appropriate member of staff and actioned. The service is not appropriate for urgent clinical requests. We aim to respond to requests within 48 hours. Please note that no appointments can be booked by using PATCHS – all appointments still need to be booked by using our online booking service or calling the Surgery on 01268 209309.
To use this service for the first time you will be prompted to register and input your patient details or you can log in through your NHS app to message our Clinicians.
Please bear in mind that this is a new service and there may be some initial teething problems. We hope that it will become a useful means of communication with the surgery and ease some of the current issues with call waiting times and accessibility.
For more information on how to register, please see ‘How do I?..’ section of the website.
*Please be reminded, you cannot use this service to book appointments – this is for non-urgent requests. Appointments should be booked via our online booking service or by calling the Surgery.
