Changes to Appointment Booking System

IMPORTANT NOTICE – WITH EFFECT FROM

MON 29^TH APRIL 2024

We have reviewed some feedback which suggests when patients call to book on the day these appointments have already been allocated to patients who have attended in person.

We have decided to review our booking procedure to ensure fairness to all.

In light of the fact that we now have a new cloud-based telephone system where you have the option of a call-back, from Monday 29^th April 2024, all appointments to be booked on the day will now ONLY be bookable by phone. You will no longer be able to queue for an appointment outside the surgery. The option of booking online is to remain unchanged.

There will be no emergency appointments released at 2pm.

For all routine advance appointments, you can still book online, by phone or by coming into the surgery or you can use our online PATCHs service.

We have more receptionists available to answer your call as quickly as possible to ensure a smooth delivery of this change.

Please be reminded that same day appointments are for patients who are acutely unwell at that time. Everything else should be booked as a routine advance appointment.

Please note that if you are suffering from any of the following conditions listed below, you will be directed to attend a pharmacy for treatment. Pharmacies participating in ‘Pharmacy First’ can offer a consultation and prescribe medications including antibiotics.

Sinusitis – Adults & Children aged 12 and over

Sore throat – Adults & Children aged 5 and over

Acute Otitis Media (Ear ache) – Children aged 1 to 17 years

Infected insect bite – Adults & Children aged 1 year and over

Impetigo – Adults & Children aged 1 year and over

Shingles – Adults aged 18 and over

Uncomplicated urinary tract infections – Women aged 16 to 64 years
